Overview:

The Thermo Scientific Invitrogen FLoid Cell Imaging Station (often referred to as the EVOS FLoid) is an all-in-one benchtop fluorescence microscope designed for high-speed, intuitive imaging of cell cultures. Manufacturing dates around July 2020 represent one of the later production runs before the model was eventually discontinued in favor of the newer EVOS M-series.

Key Features:

• The FLoid is unique because it uses a fixed 20x plan fluorite objective, meaning there is no objective turret to rotate. Magnification is adjusted digitally.

• Three-Channel Fluorescence: Equipped with fixed light cubes for DAPI (Blue), FITC (Green), and Texas Red (Red), plus a specialized Relief Phase channel for high-contrast transmitted light imaging of live cells.

• Digital Zoom Capability: While the optical magnification is fixed at 20x, the system offers seamless digital zoom up to 1,840x magnification for detailed cellular inspection.
